some thing could usefully be said to

to bear constantly in mind the value
to be the Governors of the Straits
Settlements and Hong Kong of any early
advice or information which, with their
experience, the Embassy could give
them for their guidance in any matter
of Chinese opinion in Malaya and Hong

organisations both local and Far Eastern,
which is now actively in hand, will no
doubt be of great assistance to the
Governors and you will see that this
point has been made in the Secretary of
State's reply to Sir Shenton Thomas.
